GHL contact quick actions: one tap to tag, log and start a workflow
GHL contact quick actions put a small bar of buttons and tags on every contact page. One tap adds or removes a tag that starts a workflow, a button can open a short form that writes custom fields, and the contact updates on the spot. It can sit in any of 6 positions and users can drag it.

ST-01 · THE ANSWER
What is the contact actions bar?
The short answer
A bar of quick tag chips and buttons added to the GoHighLevel contact page. Chips add or remove one tag in a tap. Buttons add, remove or toggle tags, or open a short form whose fields are written straight into the contact’s custom fields, using the signed-in user’s own GoHighLevel permissions.
- Quick tags show whether the contact already has the tag, and tap again to remove it.
- Form fields: text, paragraph, number, date, drop-down, email, phone or link.
- Optional notes record who added which tag or changed which field.
- 6 starting positions; users can drag the bar and it remembers.

Where it earns its keep
Setters logging call outcomes
A Log the call button opens outcome, quoted value and follow-up date. Three fields, written in one go, and the follow-up workflow starts from the tag.
Review requests after a job
One chip adds the review tag your review workflow listens for. Pressing it again removes it, so mistakes undo in a tap.
Snapshot builds with tag-driven automations
Most of what a DFY build automates starts on a tag. Buttons make those tags impossible to mistype.

Quick tags
One-tap chips for the tags you use most, each showing whether the contact has it, with colours for added and not added.
Buttons that start workflows
A button adds, removes or toggles tags, so one press starts any workflow listening for that tag.
Pop-up forms for custom fields
A button can open a short form, each field mapped to one custom field on the contact, and required where you say.
Your messages, and notes
Set the message shown on success for every chip and button, and optionally write a note to the contact each time.
Place it anywhere
Pick one of 6 starting positions. People can drag it, it remembers the spot, and a double-click on the grip puts it back.
Per sub-account
Show a chip or button in every sub-account, or only in the ones you list.

GHL contact quick actions: what agencies ask
Through GoHighLevel’s own API with the signed-in user’s session, the same calls GoHighLevel’s interface makes. A user can only do what their GoHighLevel permissions already allow.
Yes. Buttons add, remove or toggle tags, so any workflow with a tag added or tag removed trigger starts from one press.
Any custom field in the sub-account, found by name, key or id. Each form field maps to one, as text, paragraph, number, date, drop-down, email, phone or link, and can be required.
If you switch it on. A note can be added each time saying which tag was added or removed and by whom, or which field changed from what to what.
Yes. Each chip and button can be limited to a list of sub-accounts or shown in all of them.
No. The preview runs the real bar on a sample contact and sends nothing. Inside GoHighLevel the same taps update the contact immediately.
The contact actions bar starts at Forge.
The chip flips back and the bar shows GoHighLevel’s reason, so nobody assumes a tag was added when it was not.
