GoHighLevel menu customization that fits how your clients actually work

GoHighLevel menu customization means deciding what each client sees, in what order, under which name, and where the menu sits. The customizer lets you rename, reorder, hide and group items, add your own links, and move the menu to a left or right sidebar, a top bar in 8 styles, mega menus or a floating quick menu.

ST-01 · THE ANSWER

What does menu customization change in GoHighLevel?

The short answer

It changes the navigation, not the features. Items can be renamed, re-iconed, reordered, hidden or grouped under headings, sections with sub-pages can open as lists or mega menus, and the whole menu can live on the left, on the right, across the top or in a floating bubble. Agency and sub-account views are set separately.

  • 8 top bar styles and 8 header styles.
  • 8 mega menu styles for sections such as Payments and Sites.
  • A floating quick menu in 3 layouts and 8 finishes, draggable by the user.
  • New GoHighLevel items are appended automatically unless you switch that off.

Problem and outcome

From cold stock to poured

COLD · STOCK GOHIGHLEVEL

Thirty items, and the client needs five

  • Every feature listed, whether a client uses it or not
  • GoHighLevel’s names in GoHighLevel’s order
  • Sub-pages buried in tabs that clients never find
  • The same sidebar on every brand you run

POURED · WITH THE CUSTOMIZER

A menu shaped around the job

  • Only what each view needs, in an order that makes sense
  • Your names, your icons and links to your own help centre
  • Mega menus that show every sub-page at a glance

Menu builder

The rigging you get to move

Rename, reorder, hide, group

Drag items into order, give them your own names and icons, hide what a client never touches and group the rest under headings.

Left, right or across the top

Keep the sidebar, dock it on the right, or turn it into a top bar in 8 styles. A merged header saves a whole row of screen.

Sub-menus and mega menus

Sections with sub-pages open as a plain list or as one of 8 mega styles, from columns and tiles to tabs and a full-width band.

Floating quick menu

A bubble, dock or side rail with the pages people use most. Anyone can drag it and it remembers where they left it.

Your own links

Point menu items at your help centre, booking page, courses or onboarding, opening inside the app or in a new tab.

Start page and header buttons

Choose where a sub-account lands after sign-in and hide header buttons you would rather clients did not press.

ST-05 · ON THE FLOOR

For agencies

Where it earns its keep

  1. A client who only books and messages

Dashboard, Conversations, Calendars and Contacts, in that order, under the words they use. Everything else is hidden from their view and still there for you.

  2. An agency team that lives in settings

A top bar with mega menus puts every Payments and Sites sub-page one hover away, and the floating quick menu pins the five pages the team opens fifty times a day.

  3. Two brands from one agency

Each workspace keeps its own menu, so a med-spa brand and a trades brand can each feel built for their buyer.

ST-06 · IN THE EDITOR

How you set it

Three moves in the editor

You do this yourself, after your login arrives by email. Nobody at the foundry needs access to your GoHighLevel.

  1. Lay out the items

Drag the menu into order, rename and re-icon items, hide what is not needed and add your own links.

  2. Choose the rigging

Sidebar, right dock or top bar, a header style, a sub-menu style, and the floating quick menu if you want it.

  3. Save

Agency and sub-account views update on their next page load. Change it again whenever a client’s needs change.
